Paymon’s Mediterranean Cafe

Paymon’s is a frequent winner in this category — not the least, we think, because its original location has a nice artsy feel that reminds us all that this is a college town, too. But the original Maryland Parkway spot and the newer one on West Sahara Avenue also are favored for their reliable renditions of Greek and Middle Eastern favorites, and the best — maybe only — fesanjan in town. Marrakech finishes a distant second.
