They’re plump; they’re juicy; they have just the right meat-seasoning ratio; they’re served in warm, soft, pillowy buns; you can add your own condiments at will; and they’re easy on your recession-restricted wallet. Yeah, we get why readers frequently choose Costco in this category. Chicago Tasty Dogs steams into a distant second.

Our Pick:

Chicago Hot Dogs

The best hot dogs, in our estimation, are Chicago-style hot dogs, and no one in Las Vegas makes them better than, coincidentally, Chicago Hot Dogs. An ownership shift has spruced the place up a bit, but it’s still a reliable spot for a Vienna Beef dog dressed out right with yellow mustard, bright-green relish, diced onion, sliced tomato, sport peppers, a kosher dill spear and a sprinkle of celery salt, all on a poppy-seed bun.

I have been eating Chicago Hot Dogs for over 70 years and in my opionion Rancho Hot Dogs do not meet the standards of Chicago Hot Dog. I been living in Las Vegas 6 years and they were the only one in town and I used to go to Chicago Hot Doges and since they are now on their 4 owner who do not do justice to Chicago Hotdoay until Windy City Beef and Hot Dogs on Lake Mead and Buffalo opened up about less than a year ago. They know how to make a real Chicago Hot Dog, they know how to steam the buns like they do in Chicago. They are really a friendly bunch of people behind the counter and when you walk in they remember your name.

In fact this place is extremly clean and they have a loyatly card after every 10 hot dogs you get one free plus if you want to purchase a box of 40 hot dogs they will accomodate you. I have tried their chili which is excellernt and their beef sandwich. But my wife and I go their at least 3 times a week for lunch.

Their fries are always hot in a bag and they have the right Bright Green Relish which I know as Picalilly.

If you are from Chicago and you are old as I am you will remember when Hot Dogs in Chicago were call Red Hots and tehy were always from Vienna Meat Company which is a 100+ year company.

I have lived in Chicago my whole life, I was a Chicago Police officer for 27 Years, during that time I have eaten at a lot of hotdog stands, I have been retired for 12 years in Vegas, every time someone states I have found a good Chicago Hotdog, Well I am no expert but I can tell you I know a Chicago Hotdog. Windy City Beefs-N-Dogs at Lake Mead & Buffalo are the closest anyone is going to get from Chicago. My special is their # 4/ 3in beef with sweet peppers and gardeniar.a hotdog with with mustard relish, onion, tomato, pickel spear, sport peppers, and celery salt. (NO KETCHUP) on a hot dog.a bag of fries and a drink, all for less that some other hotdog stands.I like their menu.I think they have the best hotdogs in VEGAS.

New place, Windy City Beefs and Dogs. It ROCKS! I rarely eat hot dogs, but this new place may change my mind.
