2010 - Best Microbrewery

Readers’ Pick:

Gordon Biersch

3987 Paradise Road 750 S. Rampart Blvd.

VN:F [1.9.11_1134]
Rating: -18 (from 78 votes)

When Gordon Biersch won in this category last year, we speculated it was because of the oh-so-addictive garlic fries and we still suspect that, at least in part. While Gordon Biersch has the beer down cold — the Czech Pilsner and Schwarzbier and seasonal specials — they do the whole brew pub picture up right, which means great food and fun special events and entertainment. BJ’s Brewhouse foams into second.

Our Pick:

Chicago Brewing Co.

2201 S. Fort Apache Road

VN:F [1.9.11_1134]
Rating: +49 (from 89 votes)

Chicago Brewing Co. may not have the garlic fries, but it has garlic knots — do you detect a trend here? — and some creative brews, too, such as Old Town Brown and Blueberry Vanilla Wheat, and even some truly fantabulous homemade root beer. So no matter what our mood, we never go away thirsty. Or hungry.

Currently living in Md and moving to Vegas early next year. As a beer aficionado and having visited most brew pubs and brew bars in Vegas, Big Dogs has the absolute best beer with the seasonal War Dog IPA the best. Chicago brewing beer is swill and the service and knowledge base of staff is horendous. And Gordon Biersch? You gotta be kidding.
