Is it the homemade coffeecake? Is it the Tropical French Toast, with its toasted coconut, macadamia nuts and bananas? Is it, per chance, the gluten-free menu? Whatever it is, readers are all cracked up over The Cracked Egg. Omelet House finishes a close second.

We’re a little parochial, it turns out. We love Cincinnati chili, and we love the Cincinnati chili omelet served at Egg Works. It’s a whopper, accompanied by seasoned potatoes, and with the banana-nut muffin we’re gone for the day, but what a way to go. Although the egg-crepes, skillets, pancakes and waffles, and everything else are pretty special, too.

Egg Works has great food, great service and many menu choices. However our family is totally and completely addicted to their french frys! Thin, crisp, well-seasoned fries that are so delicious we even have them with our breakfasts instead of the standard home frys! Yummie!
We were disappointed when we dined at Egg Works recently. My wife ordered the blueberry pancakes which were old fashion and way too dense. I fared only a modestly better with my easy over eggs, work potatoes and banana nut muffin. I feel the food is overpriced in relation to quality.
The Cracked Egg is good. Go early to avoid the wait. I really like the Sunrise Cafe on Eastern as well.
I like New Day Cafe on South Rainbow, South of the 215 at Robindale.
We sure to like the Egg Works on Sunset for big Sunday breakfasts.
We are also fans of breakfast at the Badger Cafe during the week. They have really well cooked breakfast fare that comes quickly and hot. You an get in eat and be out quickly if you want or sit and lounge over coffee. They will accommodate just about any combination of their breakfast menu items.
