Couples do not get married to experience a divorce. In Las Vegas, getting married is about as easy as picking your next casino buffet. However, the divorce rate for men in Nevada was 12.3 compared with the national average of 9.2 per every 1,000 men. That's the seventh highest rate in the nation.
The divorce rate for women in Nevada was also 12.3, which is higher than the national rate of 9.7 percent. It was the sixth highest rate in the nation. Las Vegas is the entertainment, marriage and divorce capitals, so it should not come as a surprise that a divorce experience can be different in Las Vegas.
Not every divorce or legal separation needs a divorce attorney. Some divorces are small, and couples can file an uncontested divorce themselves. The criteria are usually a short-term marriage (something under five years), no shared assets, and no children from the marriage. Then a couple can file an uncontested divorce.
